SOLO - The Surakarta City Government has prepared a budget of IDR 4.2 billion for social assistance specifically for the micro, small, medium (MSME), and transportation sectors.

Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said the budget from the central government was sourced from the general allocation fund (DAU) of 2 percent.

"Especially for transportation, which plays a role in bringing food from outside the city to Solo. This will be able to control inflation from there", he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 6.

Gibran said that the recipients of the social assistance were residents who had a Surakarta ID card and were engaged in supply distribution. Some of the potential recipients of this social assistance include parking attendants, taxis, truck drivers, intercity buses, and online motorcycle taxis.

According to him, this step is under the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs to make aid pads for vulnerable people following the increase in fuel prices.

The prospective recipients of this social assistance, continued Gibran, are still in the data collection stage by the relevant agencies to ensure that there are no double recipients.

"There must be no (anticipation of multiple recipients), so this is not a meeting after all. We will plot who will receive it", he said.

Meanwhile, Surakarta City Secretary, Ahyani, said the prepared budget was intended for around 7,000 recipients.

Furthermore, each recipient of assistance, both MSMEs and the transportation sector, will receive IDR 600,000.

"Probably around 7,000 people but this has not been decided, it is still data collection", he said.
