Padang Resort Police And Sector Police Submit 25 SPDP Gamble Cases To Kejari

PADANG - The Padang District Attorney (Kejari) received 25 Notices of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) on gambling cases in the past week from the local police.

"In the past week, at least we have received 25 SPDP gambling cases from Padang Police investigators and the Sector Police (polsek)," said Padang Kejari General Crime Section Head Budi Sastera in Padang, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 29.

He explained that the SPDP shipment was a formal notification from the police that investigators had started investigating the gambling case which is currently the commitment of the West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Teddy Minahasa to be eradicated.

He mentioned that of the 25 SPDPs, more than 25 suspects were entangled, because in one case there was more than one perpetrator.

"The form of the gambling game that we received was in the form of dark toto, or in the form of a game accompanied by a bet," he said.

Budi explained that the suspects in gambling cases were subject to Article 303 of the Criminal Code. His party will process the case in accordance with applicable law.

"After the SPDP, we received the submission of the case file from the investigator, the file will be examined later by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Padang Kejari," he said.

The Padang Kejari reminded the public not to gamble in any form and type because it is prohibited by law, religion, or custom.

West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Teddy Minahasa declared war on all gambling practices in the local province.

This commitment was followed up by the police in the area, both the resort police and the police by disclosing cases, including the Padang Police and their ranks.
