MATARAM - The suspect in the alleged corruption case in the management of funds from the Regional Public Service Agency at the Praya Regional General Hospital, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), with the initials ML plans to volunteer as a justice collaborator or witness to the perpetrators who are willing to cooperate.

Through his legal counsel, Lalu Anton Hariawan, suspect ML, who serves as the Director of the Praya Hospital, explained the plan to apply as a JC to help law enforcement officers uncover the parties who enjoyed the corruption money from the BLUD funds for the 2017-2020 fiscal year.

"We plan to propose it (JC) in court later, so that it will be more open and lively," Anton said in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 26.

Previously, the suspect ML conveyed that the BLUD funds for the 2017-2020 fiscal year also flowed to a number of regional officials and law enforcement officers. The statement was made when the prosecutor's office was about to detain ML along with two other suspects on Wednesday (24/8).

In his statement, suspect ML stated that the BLUD funds flowed into the pockets of the Central Lombok Kejari, the regent and deputy regent of Central Lombok, as well as one of the heads of the Central Lombok Regency Government's work scope.

Anton emphasized that his client did not just mention local officials and law enforcement officers who received the BLUD funds flow because there was supporting evidence that he now held.

The head of the NTB High Prosecutor's Office, Sungarpin, who heard of the suspect's plan to volunteer as JC, said that this was an inherent right of a suspect.

"We appreciate wanting to be JC, we'll see," said Sungarpin.

He also invited the suspect to present valid evidence of the alleged existence of officials and law enforcement officers who also enjoyed the BLUD funds.

"Please, if the evidence is valid and can be traced, we will investigate. Whoever is involved, we will act according to capacity, the mistake," said Sungarpin.

As a form of the seriousness of his institution in law enforcement responding to the statement of suspect ML, Sungarpin paid attention by ordering the Assistant for Supervision of the NTB Prosecutor's Office to carry out a series of internal clarifications at the Central Lombok Kejari.

"So, I have met the Kajari of Central Lombok, if indeed there is something that can be investigated, including from our own elements, then we will investigate. I have ordered Aswas to clarify to what extent the truth is," he said.

However, Sungarpin believes that the Central Lombok Kejari will not be careless in handling the case.

"I believe and believe that my friends from the Central Lombok District Attorney's Office will not be so rash in setting a suspect and detaining him. If there is something, it is impossible (there is a suspect determination) to commit suicide," he added.

Sungarpin also considered the statement of the suspect ML as a form of resistance and considered normal behavior from a suspect involved in a corruption case.

"Of course with his efforts, a kind of statement as if he was sacrificed, money flows everywhere. That's normal, everywhere too. You can say this and that, but where is the evidence?" said Sungarpin.

In the case of alleged corruption of BLUD funds for the 2017-2020 period, suspect ML was named a suspect together with the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Praya Hospital for the 2016-2022 period with the initials AS and the Treasurer of the Praya Hospital for the 2017-2022 period with the initials BPA.

Based on the results of the investigation into the alleged corruption case, the state lost from the calculation of the Central Lombok Inspectorate with a value of around Rp. 1.88 billion.

These losses arise in the management of the Praya Hospital BLUD funds that are not in accordance with applicable regulations. One of the work items relates to the procurement of dry food and wet food. The value of the loss for this work is around Rp. 890 million.
