JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ensured that the Christmas Mass at Christmas Day 2024 went safely. This is because the security scheme implemented is very maximal.

The security patterns applied range from sterilization to the deployment of personnel to guard the place of worship.

"Of course we have ordered members to carry out security starting from sterilization at the beginning, to ensuring that all SOPs related to security are going well," said Sigit at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Tuesday, September 24.

Not only Polri personnel, the security scheme implemented also involves TNI soldiers to community organizations (ormas).

With this involvement, it is hoped that all Christians can carry out Christmas Mass services safely and comfortably.

"Of course, all of the congregation who participate in worship activities feel safe and can enjoy the solemn joy of carrying out worship because we are the TNI and Polri along with the various relevant stakeholders guarding and securing the entire series," he said.

"So that our hope of worship can be carried out properly and of course joy and peace, Christmas can really be felt by all Christians who carry out worship," continued Sigit.

The National Police Chief assessed security at three churches, namely the Jakarta Cathedral Church, the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Samanhudi, and the Church (GPIB) Immanuel Jakarta.

The review was carried out with the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menkopolkam) Budi Gunawan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Pratikno, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
