BANYUMAS - The Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a nasi padang seller who sexually abused a minor in Kedungbanteng Village, Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

The Head of Banyumas Police, Grand Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu, through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banyumas Police, Commissioner Agus Supriadi, said that his party had arrested the perpetrator with the initials A in Sokaraja Wetan Village, Sokaraja District, Banyumas Regency. The perpetrator is known to live in a rented house in Kedungbanteng Village, Banyumas Regency.

“The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 25 at around 17:00. The suspect contacted the victim via Whatsapp (WA) and told the victim to come to his rented house. Then the suspect asked the victim to watch pornographic videos on the suspect's cellphone. After that, the suspect lured 50 thousand in cash so that the victim would be raped," explained the Criminal Investigation Unit Head in a written statement, Wednesday, August 3.

Long story short, the victim's parents who knew their child was treated this way immediately reported it to the PPA Unit of the Banyumas Police Satreskrim.

"There were three boys who were victims, while there were two who reported, namely 12 and 13 years old," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit.

Monday, August 1, at around 16.30 western Indonesia time, the PPA Unit received the handover of the alleged molester. After an investigation, the suspect admitted that he had molested the victim.

"The perpetrators are charged with Article 82 of Law no. 35 of 2014 in conjunction with Law no. 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning child protection," he concluded.
