JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police have summoned nine witnesses to investigate the collapse of a semi-permanent house on Rawa Sawah 2 Street Galur, Johar Baru.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Komarudin said that during the previous examination, the police examined three witnesses from local residents.

"Currently, the number of witnesses we are asking for related to collapsed buildings has increased to nine people," said Komarudin, quoting Antara, Tuesday, July 2.

The nine witnesses who were questioned were local residents and plumbing workers in the semi-permanent building.

Meanwhile, the owner of the house or building could not be questioned due to health conditions. "The owner of the house is still sick, so we can't ask for information yet," he said.

The police chief said witness statements would be used as support to match the results from the forensic laboratory (labfor), which is currently still waiting for the results.

The Central Jakarta Metro Police (Polrestro) is still waiting for the results of the laboratory for an investigation into the alleged excavation work from the Central Jakarta City Government that caused the construction of the building to be fragile.

"We are waiting for the results from the Central Forensic Laboratory team. If later the results from the laboratory state the cause of the fall, for example, from the excavation, we will definitely call," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Police Commissioner Gunarto.
