Students In Tangerang Regency Will Be Prohibited From Bringing Motorcycles To School

TANGERANG - The Education Office (Dindik) of Tangerang Regency, Banten Province confirmed that it is forbidden for students in the area to bring motorized vehicles to the school environment.

Secretary of the Tangerang Regency Education Office, Fahrudin in Tangerang, Monday said that as a form of firmness of the prohibition his party would issue a Circular (SE) to all schools in Tangerang Regency.

"Yes, of course, the SE that we will distribute is a form of our firmness. Even though it is an appeal, we will also continue to evaluate (the ban on bringing vehicles to school)," he said.

He said that the Tangerang Regency Education Office had now ordered all committees and school principals not to provide opportunities for students to bring private vehicles to school, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled.

In addition, his party also advised each school not to provide vehicle parking facilities for students.

"What is clear is that if there is a ban on students bringing vehicles to school, there is no parking facility provided on the school grounds," he said.

He said that schools are obliged to provide education for students who do not have complete correspondence to drive, because it is considered important in order to create safety in traffic.

"So, for junior high school students, they have not yet obtained a driving license, because they are only 15 years old. So on average they do not have a driver's license," he said.

However, if later the school and the teacher council still find that students are allowed to bring vehicles to the school environment, then they will give a firm warning.

Because, he continued, the school is the same as letting its students make mistakes by violating traffic regulations.

"The key is if the school still provides parking for children, it means that the school still allows it, and later it will be our evaluation material," he said.

He added that in the future the Education Office will ask the Police and the local Transportation Service to collaborate in socializing traffic order.

"We also not only prohibit, but also we have to provide solutions, and hopefully parents can also understand this so that we can work hand in hand in saving the nation's children," he said.
