The United Indonesia Coalition Will Register As A Candidate For The 2024 General Election On The Same Day

JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asyari said there are still several political parties that will register as candidates for the 2024 General Election in the next few days.

Hasyim said the Golkar Party, PPP, and PAN would register on the same day. These three parties have declared to merge into one coalition, namely the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

"Several (parties) such as PPP, Golkar, and PAN will register on the same day, August 10, 2022", said Hasyim at the KPU office, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 1.

In addition, several other parties that have confirmed the registration day are the Gerindra Party and PKB. The two parties are rumored to be forming an electoral coalition.

"Likewise, Gerindra PKB has confirmed that it will be present on August 8", said Hasyim.

"Later we will see the progress that the political parties who attend the KPU at least confirm their attendance at the KPU. If some are ready, we are also open to accepting them according to a mutually agreed schedule", he continued.

Hasyim said that the registration process for political parties participating in the general election was opened from today, August 1, 2022, to August 14, 2022.

The time for registration of political parties lasts for 14 days and every day will start at 08.00 WIB until 16.00 WIB. Especially on the last day, registration will close at 24.00 WIB.

During the registration process, the KPU team checks the completeness of the documents required for political parties to become candidates for election participants.

"What is being checked is the completeness of the required documents. When they are complete, the KPU will issue an official report stating that the required documents are complete and declared registered", said Hasyim.

After the registration of candidates for election, the next stage is administrative verification from August 2, 2022, to September 11, 2022

As of today, there have been several parties registered as candidates for the election, namely PDI-P, Justice, and Unity Party, PKS, Reform Party, Nasdem Party, PRIMA Party, Perindo Party, PBB, and the Pandai Party.
