MALUKU - Ambon Island Police and PP Lease are still investigating the disclosure of 100 grams of methamphetamine that entered Ambon from inmates who are currently serving prison sentences in South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

The Ambon Island Police Chief and PP Lease Commissioner Pol Raja Arthur Simamora said that from the disclosure one suspect with the initials RSD alias I had been secured by the police.

"The disclosure of the inter-provincial drug network after the police arrested a perpetrator with the initials RDS alias I on Saturday (16 July) and admitted to receiving a shipment of methamphetamine from an inmate in South Kalimantan," Arthur said in Ambon, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 22.

RDS is a private employee of a freight forwarding company. He was detained at the Polresta Rutan after being secured at the BTN Kebun Cengkeh Housing Complex, Sirimau District, Ambon City.

From the results of the examination, the suspect admitted that it was the first time he received a package of goods containing 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine from a person who was a prisoner in a correctional institution (lapas) in South Kalimantan.

Regarding the investigation into the origin of the illicit goods from prisoners in prison, Arthur admitted that the Ambon Island Police and PP Lease were waiting for the results of their investigation.

"The police are still investigating, but there is no plan to bring in the perpetrators suspected of being drug dealers and controllers from prisons in South Kalimantan," said Arthur.

For his behavior, the suspect RDS was threatened with Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Law on Narcotics with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
