DPR Members Ask Kemendikbud Ristek To Help Education In IKN

PENAJAM PASER UTARA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the Electoral District of East Kalimantan Province, Hetifah Sjaifudian, hopes that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) immediately fixes the education infrastructure in the National Capital Region (IKN) of Nusantara and its surroundings.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology should pay more attention to educational infrastructure in IKN and its surroundings, including North Penajam Paser Regency," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, in Penajam, Thursday, July 21.

Adequate educational infrastructure is the most important part to support the improvement of human resources.

The existence of the new capital city of Indonesia called Nusantara in the Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, should have fulfilled the educational infrastructure.

According to her, the relocation of the nation's capital should be used as a momentum to improve educational infrastructure in the area nicknamed "Benuo Taka".

The financial condition of the North Penajam Paser Regency Government is still difficult to meet the improvement and development of educational infrastructure.

She revealed that she received a number of complaints regarding the inadequate condition of educational facilities in North Penajam Paser Regency.

There should be no more complaints about the inadequate condition of educational infrastructure in the IKN Nusantara area and its surroundings.

"If there are still many shortcomings in educational infrastructure, it will have an impact on improving the quality of human resources," she said as quoted by Antara.

"There are complaints of a shortage of study desks and chairs, the school building almost collapsed and the school entrance is muddy," explained Hetifah Sjaifudian.

The central government must fix educational and developmental and socio-cultural infrastructure facilities by moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to the East Kalimantan region.
