JAYAPURA - One victim of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) shooting in Nduga Regency, Papua was evacuated to Timika. The victim was previously evacuated from the scene in Tanjakan Adu Mama 2, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said the body of the victim Roy Manampiring (42) was evacuated from Kenyam, Nduga Regency using a Smart Air plane.

“This morning, the National Armed Forces (TNI) - National Police (Polri) colleagues and the Regional Government have evacuated the victim Roy Manampiring who became a victim of the violence of the Armed Criminal Group on Saturday. Victims were evacuated from the scene on Wednesday morning and today we are evacuating to Timika, assisted by the Mimika Police Chief," said Commissioner Kamal, quoted from a written statement, Thursday, July 21.

Currently, the victim's body is in the Mimika Hospital and will then be flown to his hometown.

"The victim's body is already at the Mimika Hospital. The plan, Friday, July 22, 2022, will be dispatched to his hometown in Manado, North Sulawesi," said Commissioner Kamal.

He ensured that the Police and TNI would work optimally to uncover cases of violence committed by the KKB in Nduga.

“This is very unfortunate because there are two victims who are religious leaders, who provide enlightenment and advice to the community every day. Hopefully with all the efforts of the TNI-Polri and the Regional Government to collaborate to reduce the occurrence of victims of violence," he said.

Threats from the KKB have often occurred. The Police and the TNI will certainly provide protection to the community and enforce the law against the KKB.

"What is certain is that we continue to give appeals to the community not to carry out activities (cross) areas that are often passed by the KKB," continued Commissioner Kamal.
