Batam Reports 1 Case Of COVID-19 With Comorbid Death

KEPRI - Batam in the Riau Islands Province reported one confirmed case of COVID-19 with a comorbid or comorbid death. One of the patients suffered from heart disease.

Head of the Surveillance and Immunization Section of the Batam City Health Office, Ika Fairuza, explained that the COVID-19 case died first after being treated at Awal Bros Hospital due to heart disease and then COVID-19 was detected.

"Actually, the pain is a lot, the pain is very complex, then there are symptoms leading to COVID-19 and then we check the results are positive. But we didn't have time to be treated for COVID-19, as soon as the results of the examination came out, the patient was declared dead", she said, quoted from Antara.

Ika said that the funeral process for the patient was in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol at the special COVID-19 cemetery in Sei Timiang, Sekupang, Batam.

"The funeral is in accordance with the COVID-19 protocol in Tamiang. The patient has no history of travel outside the region, because he has a complex illness", she said.

Based on the Batam City COVID-19 Task Force report on Wednesday, July 20, cumulatively since the beginning of the pandemic, 31,025 people have been confirmed to be COVID-19, 30,091 of whom have completed isolation, 918 died, and 16 are active cases.
