Acknowledging The Role Of Indonesia And President Jokowi's Personal Authority In The International Arena, Zelensky Mentions The G20 And ASEAN Presidencies

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appreciates Indonesia's support for Ukraine, as well as acknowledges the role of the homeland and the personal authority of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

President Zelenskyy thanked President Jokowi for coming to Ukraine, making diplomatic history between the two countries, becoming the first president of Indonesia to visit the country.

"And this, by the way, is the first visit by a leader of an Asian country to Kyiv since the start of the full-scale Russian war. We really appreciate it and thank you," said President Zelensky when delivering a press statement with President Jokowi, citing the Presidential Website of Ukraine, Thursday 30 June.

On this occasion, the President of Ukraine stressed the importance of the role of Indonesia and Joko Widodo's personal authority in the international arena.

"You now represent the Group of Twenty (G20) in Kyiv well which is currently chaired by Indonesia. And, one of the most powerful associations in the world, ASEAN, which your country will lead next year," said President Zelensky.

According to him, today's dialogue with the President of Indonesia is a step to strengthen the coalition of anti-global war countries, which can restore and ensure world stability.

"Ukraine greatly appreciates the support of the Indonesian people and your personal support, Mr. President, in this time of war for the freedom and independence of our country," said President Zelensky, expressing his confidence that Ukraine will defend its freedom in the colonialist war started by Russia.

On the same occasion, President Jokowi noted that the visit of the Indonesian delegation to Ukraine today was a form of concern over the situation in Ukraine.

In addition, President Jokowi said the Indonesian government would do everything possible to provide assistance to Ukraine in the form of medicines, as well as to participate in the reconstruction of the Kyiv region.
