Bali Streets Start To Congest, Governor Koster Says Hotel Occupancy Reaches 90 Percent

DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster said that the number of foreign and domestic tourists visiting the Island of the Gods was already very crowded so the roads had started to congest, especially in Badung Regency and Denpasar City, Bali.

"The latest news is that there will be another new flight in July 2022 arriving at the Island of the Gods, namely from Korea, so that foreign responses to Bali have increased as the world's most popular tourist destination", said Koster, Wednesday, June 29.

The number of domestic tourist visits (Wisdom) by air is already over 11,000 people per day. Meanwhile, the land route has also reached more than 10,000 people per day.

"And there are 7 thousand foreign tourists (tourists) who come to Bali, so now there are hotels that are filled 70 percent to 90 percent, restaurants and travel are also starting to get crowded, roads are also starting to get jammed, especially in Badung Regency and Denpasar City", he added.

Governor Koster stated that the momentum must be grateful for the obligation to maintain this sloping and stable pandemic situation so that it continues. Because apart from revitalizing Bali's tourism and economy, everything on the island of Bali is also concerned with the success of the G20 Summit Presidency led by President Joko Widodo.

"So, we must continue to manage the COVID-19 pandemic well. The G20 Summit Presidency Meeting must be successful in a safe, comfortable, and peaceful manner", he said.

Koster stated that before the G20 Summit Presidency took place, Bali had also successfully held international meetings amid the stability of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So the world's trust in Bali has again received a positive response, although many local, national, and international activities have not had an impact on COVID-19, so dealing with this pandemic is not easy and easy", he said.

"And I as the Governor and Chair of the Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force carry out this recovery effort with scales to ask for the COVID-19 pandemic to be well managed, and the scale continues to work with all vertical agencies of the Bali Provincial Government and Regencies and Cities throughout the province.
