COVID-19 Cases In Depok Rise, Health Office Asks Residents To Stay Disciplined In Health Protocol

DEPOK - Depok City Health Office, West Java, asked the public to remain disciplined in health protocols regarding positive cases of COVID-19 in Depok City, West Java, which has increased again.

"The public must also complete their vaccination up to the third dose or booster", said Head of Depok City Health Office, Mary Liziawati in a statement, Tuesday, June 28.

On Sunday, June 26, there were 61 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, on Saturday, June 25, another 65 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added.

Mary said residents still had to wear masks, wash their hands with soap under running water, keep their distance, stay away from crowds, and limit mobility. Next D is vaccinated.

Furthermore, said Mary, if you feel symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose or stuffy nose, sore throat, or itchy throat, seek medical attention immediately.

The Depok Health Office also noted that there were additional positive cases of COVID-19, the Omicron BA.5 sub-variant. As of 27 June 2022, there were two additional cases of the Omicron BA.5 sub-variant, bringing the total to four people.

Previously, two positive residents of the Omicron BA.5 sub-variant were found. Both are domiciled in Tapos and Beji sub-districts, which have now finished undergoing isolation.

"Based on the report on June 27, 2022, residents with confirmed sub-variant Omicron BA.5 were found in Sawangan and Cinere sub-districts", she said.

Mary explained, that for the two new cases, residents who live in Sawangan District are still undergoing isolation. Meanwhile, residents who live in Cinere District are negative.
