Papuan Police Chief: 2 Weapons Seized From Brimob Members Are In The Hands Of KKB Nduga

JAYAPURA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri revealed that two firearms seized from Brimob members were suspected to have been in the hands of the armed criminal group (KKB) from Nduga led by Egianus Kogoya.

"It has been confirmed that the firearms (looted from the police) are in the hands of KKB. We are trying to get them back," said Fakhiri in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 20.

Based on the investigation, he said, it was revealed that the confiscated organic police weapons were already in the hands of the KKB and currently the weapons were on their way to the Nduga Regency area.

The Papuan Police Chief, who was met after releasing the Social Service Team in the context of Bhayangkara's 76th Anniversary, emphasized that the apparatus would take legal action.

The police will also arrest the persecutors who caused the death of Brigadier Diego Rumaropen.

"The Papuan Police will enforce the law, as well as add personnel to Wamena to arrest the perpetrators," said the Papuan Police Chief.

The Kapolda hopes that no one will confuse this issue with politics anymore because the case is purely a criminal act so that the case will be handled legally until it is complete.

"There will be no more violence in any name, do not suspect each other because the police have professional steps in handling these cases," said the Kapolda affirmed.

This incident is related to the death of a member of the Papuan Police Mobile Brigade Brigade Headquarters Diego and the disappearance of two firearms that occurred Saturday afternoon (18/6) at around 17.00 WIT in Napua District, Jayawijaya Regency.

A group of people attacked the victim until Diego died, then took two firearms. The perpetrators took two organic firearms from the National Police, namely AK101 and SSG08 (sniper).
