COVID-19 Update As Of June 16: New Cases Increase To 1,173 From Examination Of 76,459 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 76,459 specimens were examined with the result of 1,173 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,064,424 and active cases have increased by 661 to 6,668", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, June 16.

Today's recovered cases increased by 509 cases, bringing the total to 5,901,083 recovered people. Then, positive confirmation that 3 died and a total of 156,673 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 696 cases and a total of 1,255,810 cases. Followed by West Java with 158 new cases with a total of 1,108,069 cases. Banten has 145 new cases and a total of 294,279 cases. Then, East Java with 63 new cases and a total of 576,895 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 293 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 66 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 53 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 37 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 99,794,388.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 1.06 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,054 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 201,000,560 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 168,251,795 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the third dose of vaccination was 48,269,992. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
