BANYUMAS - The Gegana Brimob Team of the Central Java Regional Police and Inafis of the Banyumas City Resort Police (Polresta) found explosives while investigating the crime scene (TKP) of an explosion that killed a resident in Randegan Village, Banyumas Regency.

"From the results of the TKP at this house, it was found that explosives were suspected to be used to make firecrackers or firecrackers," said Head of the Banyumas Police Chief Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu when giving a press statement after examining the crime scene at the house belonging to Sajam, a resident of Grumbul Leler RT 04 RW 01, Randegan Village, Kebasen District, Banyumas, Tuesday, June 14 evening.

However, he said his party was still recording and collecting all the evidence related to the explosion.

He suspects that the explosion occurred when the victim, Ahmad Gustomi (28), who is the son of the owner of the house, was making firecrackers while smoking.

This allegation arose because around the victim who was found dead, there were many cigarette butts.

"This is a temporary assumption, we will investigate it again," said Grand Commissioner Edy.

He said that his party was still investigating whether the explosives were used to make firecrackers or to make firecrackers because raw materials were also found at the scene.

According to him, the explosion incident had nothing to do with terrorism because the activity of making firecrackers was known based on information from the victim's parents.

"We are still investigating the information," said the Chief of Police.

As reported, the explosion incident that occurred on Tuesday, June 14, at 17.30 western Indonesia time, resulted in the death of one resident, Ahmad Gustomo (28).

Village head Randegan Kasihyono said the explosion had an impact on four residents' houses around the scene, two of which were destroyed.

He admitted that he did not know for sure the source of the explosion which resulted in the death of one resident.

According to him, the source of the explosion is still unclear because someone said that it came from firecrackers stored in the victim's house.

"However, as far as the surrounding environment knows, he (the victim, ed.) has a decorative lighting business. So, it's still confusing," he said.
