MEDAN - The man who claimed to be a Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) member with the rank of Bripka was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Percut Sei Tuan Police. He tricked his victims by borrowing money while showing his membership card (KTA).

The Percut Sei Tuan police chief, Commissioner M Agustiawan, said the perpetrator, named Juli Syahputra (40), a resident of Brigadier Katamso Street, Gang Rest, Medan City District, was arrested on arable land in the Dendang Sea, Deli Serdang Regency. He explained that the arrest of the perpetrators began with the information provided by the public.

"When officers arrived at the location, they found a man claiming to be a police officer who served as Brimob with the rank of Bripka", said Commissioner Agustiawan when confirmed, Monday, June 13.

To the police, this fake Brimob member admitted to tricking his victim, Ali Sikbar, by borrowing IDR 500 thousand.

"The perpetrator convinced the victim that he was Brimob by showing a KTA", he explained.

Commissioner Agustiawan said that his party was still investigating the modus operandi of this fake Brimob member.

"We are also still looking for other victims besides what happened yesterday when we arrested them", he said.

Currently, the fake police officer is being held at the Percut Sei Tuan Police Headquarters for further investigation.

"In addition to the perpetrators, we also secured some evidence, such as 2 pairs of Brimob Police official shirts, Brimob shirts, and others", said Commissioner Agustiawan.
