JAKARTA - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un urged his officials to crack down on non-revolutionary acts such as bureaucratism, state media said Monday.

Kim Jong-un's firm order was delivered at a ruling party meeting, a day after the party elite meeting was held, to stamp out non-revolutionary actions.

The day before, the Secretariat of the ruling Workers' Party Central Committee held a meeting in Pyongyang to discuss the immediate tasks facing the party, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

During the meeting, Leader Kim urged party officials to wage a more intense battle against unhealthy actions and bureaucracy.

The meeting also discussed the issue of strengthening the role of parties in carrying out national tasks, which was discussed at the fifth plenary meeting of the eight-party Central Committees last week.

At last year's party congress, North Korea revised its ruling party rules to restore the secretariat it abolished in 2016 and elect Kim as the party's general secretary.

Last weekend, North Korea fired a series of artillery fires over the weekend, days after leader Kim Jong Un vowed to use "force for power" to defend the country's sovereignty.

Meanwhile, South Korea's military detected "multiple flight paths" what is understood to be fire from North Korean artillery, Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said late on Sunday.

Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency, which usually reports on successful weapons tests 24 hours after the incident - has not released any information about Sunday's fire, or recent missile launches.
