COVID-19 Update As Of June 8: 520 New Cases From Examination Of 72,898 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 72,898 specimens were examined with the result that there were 520 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,058,180 people and active cases have increased by 258 to 3,498 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, June 8.

Today's recovered cases increased by 258 people, bringing the total to 5,897,630 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 4 cases and totaled 156,628 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 288 cases and a total of 1,252,274 cases. Followed by West Java with 83 new cases with a total of 1,107,092 cases. Banten with 52 new cases and a total of 293,525 cases. East Java with 34 new cases and a total of 576,541 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 96 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 43 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 39 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 26 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 99,254,486.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.77 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,068 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 200,681,903 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 167,859,558 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 47,859,558. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
