Russia Receives Proryv Soon, The Most Advanced Variant Of The T-90 Main Battle Tank: Its Dome Is Custom Made, Packed With Various Technologies

JAKARTA - Defense manufacturer Uralvagonzavod (part of the state technology company Rostec) is preparing to deliver a new batch of new T-90M 'Proryv' main battle tanks to the Russian military.

"Uralvagonzavod held a special ceremony for the delivery of the T-90M 'Proryv' tank by train to the Russian Ministry of Defense", the press office said in a statement, quoted from TASS on June 4.

Under the defense procurement plan, Uralvagonzavod delivered to the Russian troops new T-90M 'Proryv' tanks and armored vehicles upgraded to this level.

"The preparation and assimilation of mass production of this modern armored vehicle have been carried out at the company in full and positive results from the qualification tests have been received", the press office added.

The T-90M 'Proryv' tank was developed by the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Machine-Building (part of Uralvagonzavod). As its developers' highlight, the 'Proryv' is the most advanced armored vehicle in the T-90 family of tanks.

The tank is judged to be the most suitable for operations on today's battlefields thanks to its comprehensive protection, modern guided missiles, highly automated fire control system, and enhanced survivability technology.

According to Uralvagonzavod data, the T-90M has undergone multiple modernizations and can rightly be called a new combat vehicle. It has received a special new turret, different from the serially produced combat module. And a more powerful 1,130 hp engine.

The 'Proryv' is equipped with a 125mm tank gun which can fire new powerful ammunition as well as missiles capable of destroying enemy tanks at a range of up to 5 km.

The new multichannel sights allow the tank to use its arsenal at any time of the day or night. In addition, the option to exchange data with other combat vehicles in real-time has become one of the main advantages of the upgraded tank.

For its armor protection, the T-90M Tank has an anti-skid coating similar to that installed on the groundbreaking T-14 'Armata' main battle tank.

Previously, the first batch of upgraded T-90M 'Proryv' main battle tanks was delivered to the Russian troops in the spring of 2020. At the Army-2021 international arms exhibition, the Russian Ministry of Defense and Uralvagonzavod signed a contract for the delivery of another batch of T-90M main battle tanks and upgrade the T-90 operational tank to the T-90M level.
