JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT), Thursday, June 2. In the OTT, the KPK team ensnared a number of people including former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti.

The confirmation of Haryadi's arrest was conveyed by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. Initially, he said that his subordinates held an OTT in the Yogyakarta area.

"Currently, the KPK is making arrests in the Yogyakarta area. Until now, our colleagues are still working," Firli said in a written statement to reporters on Tuesday night, June 2.

Not explaining anyone, but Firli confirmed that Haryadi was transported by his men.

"That's right, brother HS," he said.

Furthermore, the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK asked the public to give the institution time. Because, the team that is engaged in the field is still working.

"In time the KPK will convey it to the public," said Firli.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that Haryadi was entangled in the silent operation because he was related to the alleged bribery. However, he did not go into details.

Ghufron only said there were a number of evidence found, such as documents and money. However, he refused to talk further because the investigation process was still being carried out by his subordinates.

"We have secured a number of documents and several people. We are still calculating the amount in US dollars," he said.

Haryadi actually just ended his term of office on May 22 and was replaced by the Acting (Pj) Mayor until the upcoming 2024 Pilkada.

Haryadi Suyuti is married to Tri Kirana Muslidatun and has 2 children. The first to study at the Faculty. Medicine UGM and both are still in elementary school.
