CILACAP – Warsoyo, a resident of Pisang Street, Swaka Village, Pemalang, Pemalang Regency, was reported missing and drowned in the Serayu river. According to witnesses at the location, the victim was loading and unloading a boat containing sand, Wednesday, May 18.

Witnesses named Suyitno and Febri said the incident began when the victim left to mine sand at the mouth of the Serayu River from his home at around 05.00 WIB.

After an hour of mining for sand, the boat that the victim was on was full. Then at around 06.30 WIB the victim wanted to go home. When the boat was running for 10 minutes, the victim on the boat was hit by a big wave from behind.

The victim is missing, presumably drowned. Until now the victim has not been found along with the boat. Meanwhile, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) team and the relevant agencies are still looking for victims.
