Jukung Hit By Waves, Angler Lost In The Waters Of Benoa Bali

BADUNG - Jukung (outrigger) was hit by the waves on the shipping lane of Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, Bali. An angler named Dika was rescued, and one other person, Made Suwitra, was missing.

From the report received by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) of Bali, it is known that the two victims went to sea to fish. The two departed from Kelan Beach, Badung Regency, at around 06.00 WITA. However, when they were in prison 4 or the Benoa Harbor shipping line, they were hit by the waves.

"They were hit by the waves and the jukung overturned. One person was rescued by anglers around the location, but the other was missing," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, Gede Darmada, Wednesday, May 18.

Meanwhile, from the statements of survivors, the incident is said to have occurred at 09.30 WITA. Information about the missing angler was received by the Bali SAR which immediately mobilized 6 personnel.

"As of 13.30 WITA, two shorti have been carried out and besides that, they also involved the police with a speedboat, and the joint SAR team is continuing the search but has not found any signs of the victim's whereabouts," said Darmada.
