Air Monitoring Of Homecoming Flows: Police Say Traffic On D-2 Eid al-Fitr Is Smoothly Monitored

JAKARTA - The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that the D-2 Eid al-Fitr was observed to be very busy. This is based on the information data it receives through direct air monitoring using a helicopter.

He added that starting from the Jakarta-Cikampek direction to the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, the volume of vehicles was still high. However, it does not cause severe traffic jams.

"In general, the results of air traffic monitoring from KM 48 - Cikampek, Cirebon, Brebes, Pekalongan, KM 414 Kalikangkung, the traffic flow can run", said Dedi on Saturday, April 30.

On the occasion, Dedi admitted that there was a bit of overcrowding in the rest area. However, it did not cause severe traffic jams at the location.

"Especially for the rest area, there is a slowdown. (But) it continues", said Dedi.

Dedi detailed that, Friday, April 29, the volume of vehicles passing through the Jakarta exit toll gate has increased. There were 105,016 vehicles recorded at the Cikatama Gate. That figure is an increase of 271 percent compared to the normal number on a typical day.

In Kalihurip Utama, there were 30,471 vehicles, a 17 percent difference. Then, GT Cikupa 53,191 a difference of 16 percent increase. And GT Ciawi 37,937 the difference in increase is 22 percent.

Previously it was reported that as many as seven million people were reported to have left DKI Jakarta for their hometowns. This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Endra Zulpan.

"Approximately seven million people (left Jakarta). The previous prediction was that 13 million residents of DKI and its surroundings would go home", said Zulpan at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Saturday, April 30.

Regarding the security for the 2022 Eid homecoming flow, his party will also carry out guarding at several tourist sites in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings.

It is predicted that several residents will still visit tourist attractions. Therefore, security posts have been established at tourist sites that are usually visited by residents.

"We have prepared several tourist attractions that are usually crowded with people, such as TMII Ancol, Ragunan Kotu, and Monas, which will become a crowd after Eid", said Commissioner.
