Everything Is Back To Normal, Jabodetabek KRL Passengers On Holidays Are Increasing Again

JAKARTA - KAI Commuter recorded an increasing trend of Jabodetabek KRL users on holidays by 7 percent from the previous week in the month of Ramadan.

Said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Anne Purba, on the first weekend of April, the average volume of Jabodetabek KRL passengers was 354,965 people. Then, there was an increase in passenger volume in the second week to 278,860.

Furthermore, said Anne, passengers in the third week increased by almost 30 thousand passengers.

"The average volume on holidays this week is 405,467 users," said Anne in a written statement, Monday, April 18.

Furthermore, the KAI Commuter predicts an increase in KRL users ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The increase could reach 7 percent from this week.

Meanwhile, the average volume of KRL users on weekdays throughout the month of April was 560 thousand more, or 52 percent higher than the average user on holidays, which was 368 thousand.

Anne continued, starting April 4, KAI Commuter operated 1,053 trips in the Jabodetabek area with operational hours starting at 04.00-24.00 western Indonesia time every day.

Along with the increase in the number of users, the operation of KRL travel services on each route is also added, namely the Cikarang-Jakarta Kota PP route, the KAI Commuter serving 215 trips per day.

Traffic on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota PP route serves 237 trips per day, the Bogor-Jatinegara PP route 201 trips per day, the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang route 218 trips per day, the Tangerang-Duri route PP 108 trips per day, and the Tanjung Priok-Jakarta route. City PP 74 trips per day.

The distribution of KRL users on weekdays is also focused on the morning rush hour, which is 06.00–09.00 western Indonesia time, and during the afternoon rush hour, starting at 16.00–18.00 western Indonesia time.

"For KRL users who will return to their activity locations on working days the next day, they are advised to use KRL this weekend by taking advantage of the empty KRL conditions," he added.
