SUNGAILIAT - The COVID-19 Task Force of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, noted that five areas from eight sub-districts had zero cases of COVID-19 distribution.

"It was recorded that there were five sub-districts in Bangka Regency with zero cases of COVID-19 after the residents who were previously positive for the Coronavirus had all recovered", said Bangka Regency COVID-19 Task Force Spokesman, Boy Yandra in Sungailiat, reported by Antara, Sunday, April 10.

It said five sub-districts had zero spread of COVID-19, namely Bakam District, Mendo Barat, Merawang, Puding Besar District and Riau Silip District.

Meanwhile, in three other sub-districts, such as in Belinyu District, there are still five cases of COVID-19, Pemali there are four remaining cases and in the Sungailiat District area, it is known that there are still 19 cases.

During two years of the spread of the Coronavirus in Bangka Regency, until Sunday (10/04), 12,040 residents were recorded as positive for COVID-19 while 11,614 residents recovered from COVID-19 and 398 residents who were exposed to the Coronavirus died.

"While there are still 60 residents who are still waiting for the results of regional laboratory tests, it is known that dozens of residents are suspected of having close contact with COVID-19 patients", he said.

Boy Yandra reminded that the public, without exception, must really pay attention to and implement health protocols, especially wearing masks for worshipers in mosques, considering that the government provides leeway with tight prayer tables.

"For residents who have not received the service of the first, second, or booster vaccines, they should immediately register at the vaccine booth which is opened every day", he said.

For those traveling back and forth for Eid, he said, it must be ensured that they have received a booster vaccine service so that there is no need for an antigen swab test or PCR.
