The Theft Of A Motorbike At The Rebo Market, East Jakarta, Was Caught By CCTV Cameras

JAKARTA - An act of theft was caught on CCTV cameras around the scene. The theft took place in the courtyard of the rented house, Pendidikan Street 3, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta.

It appears that one of the perpetrators entered the courtyard of the house by sneaking and then stole an automatic type motorbike from the house's yard.

According to Merci, the victim, theft which occurred at around 06.00 western Indonesia time was carried out by two perpetrators. One perpetrator waited outside to observe the situation so as not to be caught in action. While the other one is executing.

Merci was surprised, after waking up to find out when one unit of his motorcycle was missing. The condition of the gate was wide open as a sign that the perpetrator had succeeded in breaking the lock of the gate.

"When I saw that my motorbike was gone, I also saw that the gate was wide open, checked that the motorbike was no longer there, the lock was missing," Merci told reporters, Tuesday, April 5.

Based on the CCTV footage, said Merci, it was suspected that the ignition of his motorbike had been broken using a letter T key. In a short time, his motorbike was stolen.

"With him (the contact) the key was broken and immediately pushed, when the incident occurred the motorbike was not double locked, only the handlebars were locked," he said.

Merci also admitted that he had reported the motorcycle theft case to the Pasar Rebo Police for follow-up.
