Even Though The Case Is Sloping, Riau Residents Must Remain Vigilant About COVID-19

PEKANBARU - The Riau Provincial Health Office reminded, that even though the case continued to slop, residents must remain vigilant and disciplined about health protocols, especially as we enter Ramadan, worship activities invite the potential for large crowds.

"Covid-19 confirmation data on Sunday, April 3, noted that 48 people recovered and we are saddened because there were 3 deaths due to COVID-19", said Head of the Riau Provincial Health Office, Zainal Arifin in Pekanbaru, as reported by Antara, Monday, April 4.

Zainal Arifin said that there were 23 additional cases of COVID-19 and the most today still occurred in Pekanbaru, namely 12 cases.

"Because Pekanbaru, the capital city of Riau Province, has a high mobility of people, residents are asked to keep working", he said.

Other confirmed cases of COVID-19 were contributed by Kampar with 3 cases, Pelalawan with 1 case, Dumai with 1 case, Kuantan Singingi with 2 cases, and Rokan Hilir with 2 cases, Rokan Hulu with 1 case, and 1 case outside the province. Meanwhile, five other districts have zero cases, namely the Meranti Islands, Indragiri Hulu, Indragiri Hilir, Bengkalis Regency, and Siak.

Then, the realization of the first dose of vaccination in Riau until April 3, 2022, has reached 96.97 percent.

"In total, 4,693,884 people were vaccinated with the first dose, or 96.97 percent of the target. Then, the second dose of vaccination was 3,668,952 or 75.80 percent", he explained.

Meanwhile, the elderly vaccination dose I reached 231,094 people or 71.66 percent, and the second dose reached 168,628 people or 52.29 percent.

Then, the first dose of child vaccination reached 529,462 people or 74.34 percent and the second dose reached 529,462 people or 47.60 percent.
