Requirements For Eid Al-Fitr 2022 Homecoming Causes The Increase In Booster Vaccinations In Tangerang Regency

TANGERANG REGENCY - A Spokesperson for the Tangerang Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Dr. Hendra Tarmizi, said that there was a surge in demand for booster doses of vaccination before the start of Ramadan 2022 in his area.

According to him, the high interest from residents is due to government regulations regarding the 2022 Eid homecoming. The condition for residents who want to go home is that they have received the COVID-19 booster vaccine.

"Yes, the booster, maybe because of the homecoming rules, so the booster is waiting in line at the public health center (Tangerang Regency)", Hendra said when contacted by VOI, Sunday, April 3.

Based on data from the Tangerang Regency COVID-19 Task Force, the number of residents who have received booster injections has reached 400,000, from the previous 360,000.

"Maybe 400 thousand, before it was only 360 thousand. So usually only 500 people queued or 400 people, now 1000. This means that it is increasing rapidly", he said.

Hendra said the accelerated vaccination program in Tangerang Regency would continue to be boosted during Ramadan. He made sure the availability of vaccines for boosters in his area was safe.

"We have available 30 thousand doses. So we did get an allocation from the province, so as soon as we can distribute it, we ask for more, that's all", he concluded.
