SURABAYA - The leadership of the Surabaya City Regional Representative Council (DPRD) said that in general the implementation of 100 percent face-to-face learning (PTM) for PAUD, TK, SD, and SMP levels in Kota Pahlawan, East Java, which started on Monday (28/3) was well done.

"This was seen when I monitored the implementation of PTM in a number of schools in Surabaya yesterday (28/3). I saw that the students had also followed the health protocols well and disciplined," said Deputy Chairperson of the Surabaya DPRD Reni Astuti in Surabaya, Tuesday 29 March.

Reni, who has great concern for the world of education, said that her party was also happy because when greeting the students during the teaching and learning activities, they responded in unison with feelings of joy.

"The children are enthusiastic, I said this is the time they have been waiting for, they can meet together, if all this time it's been shifted so they don't meet all of them. But now we have all met," she said as quoted by Antara.

In fact, during a visit to SMPN 30 Surabaya, Reni asked the students about PTM or distance learning (PJJ), most of the students said they preferred to meet their friends.

"Similarly, in understanding the subject matter, it is more appropriate if PTM is," she said.

This alumnus of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) also provides encouragement, motivation, and enthusiasm for students to receive the highest education. Especially for students who want to achieve their goals but are worried about being constrained by the cost of education.

She assured that economic limitations were not a barrier to continuing school or getting access to adequate education.

Reni said the Surabaya City Government had allocated an education budget for children in the low-income category (MBR).

"No one is now reaching their highest ideals, constrained by cost, especially at this time the City Government, the Mayor of Surabaya and the DPRD have prepared an education budget, scholarships for children, both high school and college students," he said.

Reni hopes that the pandemic condition will end soon and community social activities including schools can run normally as usual.

"We hope that this 100 percent PTM can continue, there will be no more cases of COVID-19 which will then limit the activities of residents, including PTM," said Reni.

Head of the Surabaya City Education Office (Dispendik) Yusuf Masruh previously explained, 100 percent PTM in Surabaya was also based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 18 of 2022 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali, which was set on March 21, 2022. The city of Surabaya itself has officially entered Level 1 PPKM.

In addition, based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 05/KB/20221, Number 1347 of 2021, Number Hk.0 1.08/Menkes /667/2021, Number 443-5847 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic Period.

"Thanks to the hard work and mutual cooperation of all parties, PTM can be carried out 100 percent starting Monday, March 28 in accordance with the Ministerial Decree 4. Hopefully, learning interaction activities between teachers and students can run optimally again, to create great leaders in the future," she said.
