Gubsu Edy Rahmayadi Ensures Repair Of The 123 Km Road On The West Coast

PADANGSIDIMPUAN - The Provincial Government of North Sumatra (Sumut) has allocated a budget of around Rp. 700 billion to repair 123 kilometers of road infrastructure in the West Coast region.

The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, said that the road repair work would begin in the near future. This is because at this time it has entered the final stage of the auction or tender.

"No later than May 1 (start of work) is at the latest. We hope that this April will have been completed (tenders), currently entering the calculation stage and just needing clarification," he said at the West Coast Zone Musrenbang event at the Aufa Rohyan University Auditorium, Jalan Raja Inal. Padangsidempuan City Siregar was reported by Antara, Monday, March 28.

The West Coast region of North Sumatra Province includes 12 urban districts, namely Nias Regency, South Nias Regency, West Nias Regency, North Nias Regency, and Gunung Sitoli City.

Then Central Tapanuli Regency, Sibolga City, Mandailing Natal Regency, South Tapanuli Regency, Padang Sidempuan City, Padang Lawas Regency, North Padang Lawas Regency.

Gubsu Edy said provincial roads in the West Coast region were damaged due to the large number of high-tonnage vehicles being passed. In the future, he wants this road repair to adapt to passing vehicles and according to him, it has been coordinated with the local regional head.

"To the regents and mayors, we have met and we have coordinated, the first is the tonnage of vehicles that go through the road, but our task must also be in accordance with professionally, we will evaluate it in the future," he explained.

He admits that infrastructure improvements will greatly help the community and can drive the economy. The reason is that damaged roads make logistics costs or delivery of agricultural products higher.

Meanwhile, a member of the North Sumatra DPRD, Parsaulian Tambunan, in the same place, added that 2023 is the end of the implementation of the North Sumatran RPJMD. So he reminded that development programs should be focused on priority matters.

Parsaulian asked the North Sumatra Provincial Government to promote cooperation with the business world. Therefore, it is very important to support the implementation of priority work programs. Then infrastructure development in the Southern Tapanuli region.

His party requested that the North Sumatra Provincial Government realize the main ideas of the people's representatives, especially from the Tabagsel Dapil to support development.

"In order to accommodate the main ideas that we have proposed," he said.
