Replacing Ichsan Firdaus Who Died, Golkar Chairman Airlangga's Son Will Become A Member Of The DPR

JAKARTA - The son of Golkar Party chairman Airlangga Hartarto, Ravindra Airlangga will become a member of Commission VI of the DPR RI, replacing Ichsan Firdaus who died. This was confirmed by the General Elections Commission (KPU) based on data from the Bogor Regency KPU, West Java.

Ravindra himself is the owner of the second-highest vote after Ichsan in the 2019 Legislative Election. Ravindra is recorded to have 57,584 votes, while Ichsan Firdaus has 64,240.

"Based on data from the Bogor Regency KPU, the next name is Ravindra Airlangga, the son of General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto. That will later become the interim replacement (PAW) of the late Mr. Ichsan Firdaus," said Bogor Regency KPU member, Herry Setiawan, Sunday, March 27.

He mentioned that the PAW mechanism is stated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. He said that the PAW process would take place at the KPU RI within a span of about two weeks after the Golkar Party DPP submitted the application.

"The time span (PAW) depends on the party taking care of it, if the process at the KPU does not take up to two weeks," said Herry on March 27, early morning.

The member of the DPR RI in the Electoral District (Dapil) of Bogor Regency died of a heart attack while in Yogyakarta.
