JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 12 Indonesian citizens (WNI) from Ukraine had arrived in Jakarta on March 21, 2022.
Director of the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, said that the 12 Indonesian citizens consisted of nine Indonesian citizens from Chernihiv, two from Dnipro, and one from Kyiv.
One of the Indonesian citizens is the parent of two children in Dnipro who have arrived in Jakarta, said Judha. The 12 Indonesian citizens have undergone a quarantine process according to the COVID-19 health protocol and have finished undergoing quarantine on March 22, 2022.
Judha said nine Indonesian citizens who were migrant workers from Chernihiv had been returned to Binjai, North Sumatra.
"The nine Indonesian citizens have regrouped with their respective families", he said as quoted by Antara.
So far, said Judha, there have been 133 Indonesian citizens who have been successfully evacuated from Ukraine.
"A total of 23 Indonesian citizens chose to remain in Ukraine. The majority of them are women and children who have husbands or fathers who are Ukrainian citizens", he said, Thursday, March 24.
The Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv continues to communicate with the 23 Indonesian citizens and monitor their condition, said Judha.
