JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit has named the driver of the Toyota Rush car with the initials BM (63) as a suspect after hitting 5 motorcycle riders and 1 car on Jalan Delima, to be precise in front of the East Orphanage, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Wednesday 23 March.

"The perpetrator of BM has been named a suspect," said Head of Laka Satlantas for the East Jakarta Region, Iptu Seno Wibowo to reporters, Thursday, March 24, morning.

Iptu Seno said the accident occurred at around 16.30 WIB. The accident began when the perpetrator with the initials BM (63) drove a Toyota Rush car numbered B 1079 TRT and crossed from west to east via Jalan Delima Raya.

Furthermore, it was suspected that BM was not being careful enough so that the car finally grazed another car, a Nissan Serena, numbered B 1451 TKB, which came from the opposite direction.

"Then the Toyota Rush hit a Honda CBR motorcycle vehicle number B 6976 TJK which was parked. The car started running again and hit a Yamaha motorcycle vehicle number B 5497 TJQ which was turning," said Iptu Seno.

It didn't stop there, the car then hit a Yamaha Fino motorcycle with number B 4609 TNW which was parked.

The speed of the new car can stop when it hits a food stall at the scene.

"As a result of the accident, all the vehicles involved were damaged. Here is the food stall, the front wall was destroyed, the rolling door was damaged," he said.

For now, the vehicle involved in the accident was confiscated as evidence at the East Jakarta Regional Traffic Unit office. Meanwhile, the injured have been treated at Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital, East Jakarta.
