These 2 Suspects Purchased 800,000 IDR Methamphetamine, Smuggled Them Into Serang Prison In A Corn Stem, Sayur Asam

SERANG - Serang City Police have named two suspects in the alleged smuggling of methamphetamine to the Serang Penitentiary. The mode of smuggling is to put in sour vegetable corn.

The Head of Drugs at the Serang City Police, AKP Agus Ahmad Kurnia, said the two suspects had the initials Li and HB.

"While AH is still under investigation as a witness, it is still being developed. Until now, we are still pursuing OB, who is suspected of being a methamphetamine dealer who has been on the wanted list", said Agus Ahmad Kurnia in Serang, Antara, Wednesday, March 23.

For these actions, LI and HB were charged with article 114 paragraph 1 subsidiary article 112 paragraph 1 in conjunction with article 132 paragraph 1 Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum penalty of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.

The Serang Police Narcotics Unit is currently handling the case of smuggling methamphetamine into the Class IIA Serang prison on Saturday, March 19 at 11.45 WIB.

The existence of this smuggling mode was discovered when prison officers checked the food brought by AH for the inmates' LI (32) and HB (47).

Agus Ahmad Kurnia added that after the Class IIA Serang prison officers found out about the incident, they reported it to the Serang City Police and the Narcotics Unit went straight to the scene.

"With this report, the Narcotics Unit immediately went to the TKP and conducted an examination of AH who was carrying sour vegetables containing methamphetamine and secured 2 small plastic bags containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.84 grams", he said.

He explained that from the results of the examination, LI and HB ordered methamphetamine from the OB (DPO) for IDR 800 thousand. Next, the OB gave methamphetamine that had been put in the corncob in the tamarind vegetable to AH, then asked him to deliver the tamarind vegetable to the prison, which was addressed to LI and HB.

"After the vegetables were handed over to prison officers and examined, it was found that methamphetamine was stored in 2 small plastic bags that were put in a corn cob", said Agus.
