Mandalika 2022 MotoGP Ends, Jokowi Admits The Implementation Has Not Been Perfect

JAKARTA - The MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has just ended. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that the implementation of this big event was not perfect.

However, Jokowi emphasized that he would evaluate the Mandalika MotoGP for the success of the next race if it were to be held again in Indonesia.

"Indeed, there are still things that need to be evaluated, improved. I think this is a long-term event. Next year we will fix it again if there are deficiencies and I want to congratulate everyone", said Jokowi at the Mandalika Circuit, seen on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube show, Sunday, March 20.

Jokowi also thanked those who supported the implementation of the Mandalika MotoGP, especially the NTB community.

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude, especially to the people of NTB, Lombok, who have given full support and also all, both organizers and all workers who have worked day and night preparing this big event", said Jokowi.

It is known, the KTM racer, Miguel Oliveira, won the Indonesian MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit, Sunday, March 20. He was ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha MotoGP and Johann Zarco (Pramac Ducati) who finished behind him.

The Mandalika MotoGP race was postponed due to heavy rains that flushed Central Lombok. The rain handler came down. The rain not only made the MotoGP race schedule change, the riders were also confirmed to have to change their motorbike settings.

The winning trophy was handed over directly by Jokowi, who climbed to the podium wearing a red jacket with a G20 pattern.

After this, Jokowi will head to Lombok Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport and take off to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali Province.

In Bali, Jokowi will inaugurate the opening of the 144th Session of The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and other related sessions which will be held at Mangunpura Hall, Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Badung Regency.

Furthermore, Jokowi is also planned to hold a meeting with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Byeong-seug. After that, Jokowi will fly back to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang
