Police Arrest Residents Suspected Of Insulting East Lampung Customs

EAST LAMPUNG - Investigators from the East Lampung Police are still carrying out an investigation into the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Citizen Journalists Association (PPWI) Wilson Lalengke regarding the destruction of the flower board that was reported by the Penyimbang Adat Buay Beliuk Negeri Tua.

"Until now, the investigation process is still being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Lampung Police," said Head of Public Relations of the East Lampung Police, Insp Hoiili, in East Lampung, Sunday, March 13.

When asked about whether the witnesses had been examined, he said that further developments would be officially announced.

"For further information will be officially conveyed by the police agency," he said again.

Holili added that so far the East Lampung Police have arrested three people. Apart from Wilson Lalengke, two of his colleagues have also been arrested.

"Meanwhile, three people have been arrested," he said.

He mentioned that Wilson Lalengke was secured by the East Lampung Police for the alleged destruction of the flower board that was reported by the Penyimbang Adat Buay Beliuk Negeri Tua to the East Lampung Police.

"Based on the report, the East Lampung Police have arrested Wilson Lalengke and his colleagues," he said.

Previously, Wilson was arrested by the Joint Resmob Team of the Lampung Police and the East Lampung Police while leaving the Lampung Police near the Sumatra Institute of Technology (Itera) Campus on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

He was arrested on a report by an East Lampung traditional leader who did not accept that his flower board displayed in front of the East Lampung Police was damaged.

In addition to destroying flower boards, he is also suspected of insulting and insulting customs in East Lampung and causing trouble at the East Lampung Police. After being arrested at the Lampung Regional Police, he was then taken to the East Lampung Police for further processing.
