Polda Prepares Securing Routes For President Jokowi's Convoy And MotoGP Racers

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police will immediately prepare a security route that will be traversed by President Joko Widodo's convoy and 20 MotoGP racers to promote the Mandalika MotoGP motorcycle racing activity.

"In principle, the police, especially the Metro Jaya Police, will secure the maximum", said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Endra Zulpan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 10.

Zulpan said the police could apply traffic flow engineering and lane closures to secure the route that will be traversed by the presidential convoy and 20 MotoGP riders on March 16, 2022.

However, the police have not been able to reveal the plans for engineering traffic flow during the parade. "We don't know the exact route, how much distance, but definitely maximum security", he said.

Commissioner Zulpan said that the traffic flow engineering plan would be discussed first with the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) as the command holder of the RI 1 security procedures.

"There is a procedure for the presence of the President, we will cooperate with elements of the TNI (Army) and Presidential Security Forces. We will secure other safeguards along the way", he said.

Zulpan added that in the group of 20 MotoGP racers there was President Joko Widodo, so the security protocol is RI 1 security protocol, which involves Paspampres, TNI, and Police", he concluded.
