Suspect Of Murder Of A Young Woman In Sawah Besar Took Away The Victim's Cellphone And Wallet

JAKARTA - The results of the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sawah Besar Sector Police, suspect A (22), apart from committing murder and rape, was also caught robbing the victim's valuables.

"We found the cellphone and wallet (of the victim) at the perpetrator's house during the arrest," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Sawah Besar Police Commissioner Adjutant of Police Wildan, Tuesday, March 8, morning.

The Head of Unit said that the arrest of suspect A was successfully revealed in a short time because there was something odd during the crime scene. Then the victim's valuables were missing.

"(The suspect) was arrested because of our suspicions of the latter being with the victim," said Head of Unit.

Based on these suspicions, the police then questioned a number of eyewitnesses at the scene and gathered other evidence.

Then the Criminal Investigation Unit members arrested suspect A at his home on Mangga Besar Street, Sawah Besar District within three hours after the incident occurred.

"Yes, traced from the testimony of witnesses," he said.

When the arrest was made, the Head of Unit continued, the suspect denied that he had not committed the heinous act. However, after showing some evidence, suspect A admitted his actions.

"When the perpetrator was arrested, it was as if nothing had happened, just relax. He didn't admit it. Finally, he confessed," he said.

Currently, the suspect is still undergoing the police investigation report (BAP) process at the Sawah Besar Police Headquarters. The suspect will also be subjected to a urine test to confirm whether he is taking drugs or not.

"The evidence that was seized was the victim's cellphone and wallet. The suspect is not yet married," he said.

As a result of his actions, suspect A is threatened with multiple layers of articles related to crimes of murder, rape and robbery.
