JAKARTA - The police arrested three suspects in the case of beating the General Chair of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pertama. The suspects are also said to have different roles, ranging from executor to the mastermind of the crime.

"Mirotam Samual alias Bram played a role in kicking the victim's face and body", said Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat, to reporters, Tuesday, February 22.

The second suspect is Jauhar Tehuayo. He played a role in hitting Haris four times in the face.

Then, the suspect SS played the role of the mastermind of the crime. He ordered the other suspects to gang up on Haris Pratama.

"The SS gave the order to do it, so we applied Article 55 because he did not commit (the beating, ed) but ordered to do it", said Tubagus.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Harfi alias Avici, played a role in hitting the victim with a stone. So, Haris suffered injuries to his face.

The last suspect is Irfan. He played the role of hitting the victim's friend using a helmet.

Previously, the police said five people were involved in the case of beating the general chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI), Haris Pratama. Three of them have been arrested.

The three suspects, continued Zulpan, were arrested at their respective homes in the Tanjung Priok and Bekasi areas.

In this case, two suspects namely, MS and JT are charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, SS was charged with Article 55 of the Criminal Code regarding participating in assisting crimes.
