Tangerang City Transportation Agency Calls Congestion On Daan Mogot Street Not Because Of One Way, But Many Roads With Holes

TANGERANG - The trial of implementing One Way on Daan Mogot Street, Tangerang City resulted in congestion at several points, such as on Bouraq Street to Sudirman Street, Tangerang. One road user named Riki said that this method has actually become a factor in congestion on a number of roads, such as on Bouraq Street, Pembangunan 3, and Sitanala.

The man who works in Jakarta thinks that the traffic engineering regulations are too imposing. Because he was stuck in traffic for more than an hour because of this rule.

"In my opinion, this is too imposing, even if the path to unravel infrastructure congestion must be adjusted to the density of cars in the city of Tangerang", said Riki when met on Bouraq Street, Batuceper, Tangerang City, Monday, January 21.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang City Transportation Service, Wahyudi Iskandar, denied that the congestion was caused by traffic engineering. According to him, the congestion occurs because of the many potholes on Bouraq Street.

"The main cause is one of the potholes, which are currently being addressed", said Wahyudi.

However, he admitted that his party was not optimal in preparing the traffic engineering trials.

"We are trying to complete it with more complete road signs. Because it still needs socialization", he said.

Wahyudi also said that he would always evaluate the traffic engineering trial rules. This is done to avoid congestion.

"Of course we will carry out an evaluation. If there is indeed something we have to do to divert the route in traffic engineering, we can do that later", he said.
