19 Residents Of Central Sulawesi Detected Positive For The Omicron Variant

PALU - The Governor of Central Sulawesi, Rusdy Mastura, announced that 19 residents were detected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi.

The governor revealed that the information was submitted based on a report from the Central Sulawesi Health Service regarding the results of the Research and Development Center related to the SGTF examination from 19 samples sent on Friday, February 4, which were positive for Omicron.

Rusdy asked the Head of Health to prepare handling steps in the event of a third wave in Central Sulawesi, including increasing the acceleration of vaccination in all regions in Central Sulawesi.

He also appealed to the public to be more obedient and obedient to health protocols and the 5M.

"Let's not be negligent, still obey the health protocols so that we avoid the Coronavirus," said Rusdy, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 17.

Rusdy hopes that the public will not believe the news and hoax information about vaccines.

"Immediately come to receive vaccinations. Especially for the elderly, families are expected to encourage their elderly parents to receive vaccines," said Rusdy.

According to him, the COVID-19 task force must ensure that all community activities run according to strict health protocols.

"Reduce people's mobility, now we have entered the third wave of alert condition," said Rusdy.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Sulawesi Health Office, Dr. I Komang Adi Sujendera, added that 19 samples detected by the Omicron virus came from Palu City, Donggala Regency, and Tolitoli.

"We don't panic, the point is we have to obey the health protocols and want to be vaccinated. Let's not be negligent," said Komang.

Komang explained, the Central Sulawesi Government has prepared steps in handling if there is an increase in wave III cases, one of which is preparing a referral hospital and a hospital for treating COVID-19 patients.

Not only that, the government continues to strive to increase the distribution of vaccinations in all regions in Central Sulawesi, especially for the elderly and children.
