MALANG - Malang City Civil Service Police Unit sealed or temporarily closed LaiLai Market in Malang City, East Java after 1 employee was identified as positive for COVID-19.

This is in the aftermath of the upload of a tourist on social media who strolled freely into the store, even though he was indicated to be positive for COVID-19.

This decision was made by the Mayor of Malang, Sutiaji, as prevention and localization of virus exposure from tourists. In addition, the Malang City Government has also carried out tracing by conducting swab tests on all store employees.

"We are taking action to temporarily close this shop for prevention. It's very vulnerable here", said Malang Mayor Sutiaji, Monday, February 7.

This closure was also carried out after it was found that LaiLai Market did not implement visitor screening with the PeduliLindungi application.

"Earlier we found the PeduliLindungi application was not being used. I thought this was negligent and we decided to BAP (Report of Investigation)", said Sutiaji.

Now, in front of the door of LaiLai Market Malang, a seal sticker is installed that reads 'Temporarily Closed'. The temporary closure lasts up to 14 days.
