Governor Zulkieflimansyah Ensures Mandalika Circuit Is 100 Percent Ready For MotoGP Pre-season Test

MATARAM - Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) H Zulkieflimansyah emphasized that the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit is 100 percent ready to be used for the MotoGP pre-season test on February 11-13.

"Alhamdulillah, the 100 percent circuit is very ready. For now, what is being accelerated is the beautification around the circuit," he said in Mataram, Antara, Monday, February 7.

He explained that the beautification aims to make the Mandalika Circuit the most beautiful street circuit in the world.

"This beautification is a 'positioning' that Mandalika is the most beautiful street circuit in the world, because the exoticism and beauty of this circuit is extraordinary, then it is supported by the condition of the surrounding environment which is also beautified," he said.

In addition, added Zulkieflimansyah, the lanes around the Mandalika Circuit will be expanded into two lanes to avoid congestion during the MotoGP event.

"The road around the circuit which was originally one lane has been expanded to become two lanes according to the President's direction to avoid traffic jams when the moment of truth or MotoGP event takes place. Hopefully, by the end of February everything will be completed," said the Governor of NTB.

Meanwhile, in the health sector, the readiness of the NTB Province is quite good, including in the implementation of health protocols and COVID-19 vaccinations.

"Although we are happy to be the host of international events such as MotoGP, we always emphasize that we are still in a pandemic, so health protocols must still be applied, the travel bubble has also been implemented in this pre-season. For vaccinations in Lombok, dose 1 and dose 1 2 is already above 80 percent, the rest will continue to be rushed so that all regions in NTB can reach 100 percent," he said.

The Governor of NTB expressed his appreciation and gratitude to President Jokowi and related ministries who have collaborated to ensure the international event in Mandalika runs smoothly.
