Survey Results Are Always Low, This Is PKB Chairman's Response, Muhaimin Iskandar

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar responded to the results of a survey of a number of institutions that still rank him low as a presidential candidate (Capres) in 2024.

"It's a process and we're just starting, we'll see in the next 3-4 months," said Muhaimin at the Fishermen's Village in Kalibaru, Jakarta, Friday, February 4.

The deputy chairman of the DPR RI emphasized that he had not thought about entering the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) market. Currently, he continues to communicate and discuss with other parties. The reason is, he has 10 percent of the 20 percent according to the parliamentary threshold rules.

Muhaimin's presence in Kalibaru is part of a series of declarations as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election.

In fact, support for Muhaimin as a presidential candidate has been carried out in a number of regions in Indonesia since the beginning of 2022, including Millennials in Cirebon, the Sampang Tobacco Farmers Association, Craftsmen and MSME Entrepreneurs in the Bag and Luggage Industry (Intako) of Sidoarjo Youth in Pekalongan Regency, who are members of the Gus Muhaimin Asik Poll (Gaspoll).

Batik craftsmen in Bantul who are members of Giriloyo Batik, NU Entrepreneurial Women (Perwira) in Pasuruan Regency, NU Women in Mojokerto Regency, Banten Women Coalition, Indramayu and Cirebon Gaspoll Volunteers, Dozens of Young Farmers in Ngawi, Scooterists throughout West Sumatra, Crafts Association Majapahit (APM) Mojokerto to Cultural Activists of the Archipelago Heritage (Perkasa) Lamongan.

Previously, a survey released by Trust Indonesia on Monday (31/1) put Muhaimin Iskandar in 19th place, one level below Golkar Party chairman Airlangga Hartarto at 18th and far from Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono in 5th place. Prabowo Subianto's Gerindra Party was ranked first in the survey.

Meanwhile, the Political Research & Consulting (PRC) and Indonesian Political Parameter (PPI) collaboration survey at the end of 2021 placed the PKB General Chair Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar who was chosen by 0.1 percent of respondents. This figure is far above Golkar General Chair Airlangga Hartarto at 0.6 percent, even Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 4.3 percent, and Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto at 21.6 percent.

Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid emphasized that there are still two more years left before the 2024 elections are held.

Guz Jazil said his party would respond to the survey results. But he gave an example, Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin was not included in the survey results in the 2019 Presidential Election.

"For example, Ma'ruf Amin who was not in the survey, the proof is that he became vice president," said Guz Jazil.
