BANDUNG - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) together with the Logistics Affairs Agency Public Company (Perum Bulog) donated vitamin rice (Fortivit) in West Bandung Regency.

Plt. The Regent of West Bandung Regency, Hengky Kurniawan, appreciated the support of the BKKBN and Perum Bulog in accelerating stunting reduction, especially in his area.

"For us, this is something extraordinary. We realize that the government cannot be alone. We need a Penta helix collaboration", said Hengky in West Badung, quoted on Friday, January 28.

Hengky explained that currently, the West Bandung Regency Family Planning Control Service is to accelerate stunting reduction as instructed by the Head of the BKKBN, Mr. Hasto Wardoyo.

Meanwhile, Head of the BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo explained, cross-sectoral cooperation greatly supports efforts to accelerate stunting reduction.

"We are sure that this cross-sectoral collaboration will support joint efforts to achieve the big goal of realizing a healthier and more qualified Indonesian generation. Stunting reduction must be carried out through expanding the coverage of all districts and cities and must involve cross-institutional integration", said Hasto.

"In the case of toddlers and children, Iron Deficiency Anemia (ADB) stems from a lack of micronutrients in 1000 HPK. The impact affects the growth and development of children who are disturbed, decreased physical activity and creativity, and decreased immunity, thereby increasing the risk of infection. In the case of teenagers, ADB can reduce productivity and academic ability", he said.

"The condition of ADB in teenage pregnancy is also vulnerable to the safety and health of mothers and babies. Therefore, the urgency of improving community nutrition is focused on 1000 HPK and adolescents", said Hasto.
