SPKLU PLN In West Java Supports The Smooth Running Of Homecomers With Electric Vehicles During The Nataru Holiday
JAKARTA - President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, ensures that all public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) infrastructure in the West Java region is ready to support the operation of electric vehicles (EV) during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.
"Especially for the West Java region, we have increased the number of SPKLUs to 312 units, spread across all regencies and cities. In fact, in the southern coastal areas such as Tasikmalaya, Cianjur, and Sukabumi, SPKLU is also available," said Darmawan as quoted by ANTARA.
The statement was made when Darmawan conducted an inspection of the SPKLU on the Trans Java route and visited the One Stop EV Charging Station in Surapati, Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday (25/12). Previously, inspections were also carried out at the SPKLU which is located at the KM 43 A Rest Area, the Jakarta 'Merak' toll road, Banten.
Darmawan explained that PLN has operated a total of 312 SPKLUs in 214 locations spread across 26 cities and regencies in West Java.
To ensure the smooth charging of electric vehicles, PLN has also prepared 474 officers who work in turns for 24 hours at each SPKLU point.
In the city of Bandung itself, PLN has provided One Stop EV Charging Station facilities located on Jalan Surapati. This facility is equipped with two ultra fast charging SPKLU units, three medium charging SPKLU units, and one SPKLU unit specifically for two-wheel electric vehicles.

Furthermore, he said the number of travelers using electric vehicles on the Trans Java and Sumatra toll roads is estimated to increase 2.5 to 3 times compared to the previous year.
To deal with the surge, PLN has increased SPKLU capacity along toll roads by eight times compared to last year, from 64 units to 500 units.
