Budi Arie Examined By Online Judicial Case, Chairman Of Commission III Of The DPR: Feeling I Have No Involvement

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR responded to the examination of the Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi who was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) of the National Police regarding the online gambling case. Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Habiburokhman assessed that Budi Arie's involvement in the judol case was revealed at the Ministry of Communication and Information.

"For my feelings, I know Mr. Budi is a good person, Mr. Budi is a professional, yes, God willing, we hope that there will be no involvement of him in the slightest," said Habiburokhman, Thursday, December 19.

However, Habiburokhman considered it natural for Budi Arie to be questioned regarding the previous judol case at his ministry. Because after Budi Arie stepped down, several Kominfo employees and officials were arrested for being involved in online gambling.

"But because of his former position as Minister (Kominfo), at that time he was a minister, right in his time he was a minister, of course it is natural to ask for information," he continued.

The deputy governor of Gerindra also supported Budi Arie to make the online gambling case in the Kominfo environment clear. He hoped that Budi would cooperate during the examination.

"Yes, it's good, go ahead, Pak Budi I also think he will cooperate, have been cooperative and also provide information so that this incident can really be revealed clearly," he concluded.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) of the National Police confirmed that the former Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi was being investigated by investigators.

"That's right (in the middle of investigation, ed)," said Deputy Head of Kortastipidkor Brigadier General Arief Adiharsa.

Regarding the reasons and substance of the examination, Arief was reluctant to explain further and directed to ask the Polda Metro Jaya about this.

"Ask the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya," he said.
